“Maui County’s Energy Future” panel to update committee
WAILUKU, Hawaii – A panel of energy experts will provide updates on models for utility ownership and strategies to reach 100-percent use of renewables on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Economic Development, Energy, Agriculture and Recreation Committee Chair Don S. Guzman announced today.
Guzman said the “Maui County’s Energy Future” panel will include Lorraine Akiba, member, Hawaii Public Utilities Commission; David Bissell, president and CEO, Kauai Island Utility Cooperative; Doug McLeod, member, DKK Energy Services; Frederick Redell, energy commissioner, Maui County; Jeanne Unemori Skog, president and CEO, Maui Economic Development Board; and Sharon Suzuki, president, Maui Electric Company.
“I want to thank our distinguished energy panel for accepting our invitation to provide an update on this important matter,” Guzman said. “I urge the public to join us in the Council Chamber or watch the meeting live on Akaku Channel 53 or online.”
