Voter Registration

The last day to submit paper Voter Registration Applications for the 2022 General Election is October 31, 2022. People eligible to vote in the State of Hawaii may register to vote or update their voter registration online at https://olvr.hawaii.gov/.

You may also submit a paper voter registration form to the Office of the County Clerk in person or by mail. You may mail the form to:

If you will be away from your registered mailing address and require your ballot to be delivered to an alternate address for a specific election or an election cycle, you may submit a one-time absentee application.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF INITIAL BALLOT PACKAGE MAILING

In accordance with Section 11-103, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the initial General Election ballot packages for Maui County’s registered voters will be mailed via the United States Postal Service on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Voters may receive their ballot packages as soon as October 20, 2022.

Any registered voter who does not receive their ballot package by July 29, 2022, should contact the Maui County Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division at (808) 270-7749 to verify the status of their ballot package.

SUPPLEMENTAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the proclamation issued on May 10, 2022, by the Chief Election Officer of the State of Hawaii in conjunction with the clerk of each county of the State of Hawaii declared the upcoming elections and included a statement concerning the voter service centers and places of deposit for the County of Maui; and

WHEREAS, the Lanai County Council District Office Conference Room, 814 Fraser Avenue, Lanai City, HI 96763 is no longer suitable to serve as a voter service center and a place of deposit; and

WHEREAS, Hana High & Elementary School, 4111 Hana Hwy, Hana, HI 96713 is no longer suitable to serve as a voter service center and a place of deposit during the Primary Election on August 13, 2022 and the General Election on November 8, 2022; and

WHEREAS, the Kihei Fire Station, 11 Waimahaihai Street, Kihei, HI 96753 is no longer suitable to serve as a place of deposit; and

WHEREAS, Section 11-109 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes authorizes the county clerk to establish voter service centers and to designate and provide for places of deposit;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, KATHY L. KAOHU, County Clerk of the County of Maui, do hereby supplement the May 10, 2022 proclamation by:

1. Removing any reference to the Lanai County Council District Office Conference Room, 814 Fraser Avenue, Lanai City, HI 96763 as a voter service center and place of deposit; and

2. Removing any reference to Hana High & Elementary School, 4111 Hana Hwy, Hana, HI 96713 as a voter service center and a place of deposit during the Primary Election on August 13, 2022 and the General Election on November 8, 2022; and

3. Removing any reference to the Kihei Fire Station, 11 Waimahaihai Street, Kihei, HI 96753 as a place of deposit; and

4. Proclaiming that the Lanai Community Center, 411 Eighth Street, Lanai City, HI 96763 will serve as a voter service center and a place of deposit during the Primary Election during the following times:
a. August 8, 2022, through August 12, 2022, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
b. August 13, 2022, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and

5. Proclaiming that the Lanai Community Center, 411 Eighth Street, Lanai City, HI 96763 will serve as a voter service center and a place of deposit during the General Election during the following times:
a. November 1, 2022, through November 7, 2022, Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
b. November 8, 2022, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and

6. Proclaiming that the Hana High & Elementary School, 4111 Hana Hwy, Hana, HI 96713 will serve as a voter service center and a place of deposit during the Primary Election on August 6, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and

7. Proclaiming that the Hana High & Elementary School, 4111 Hana Hwy, Hana, HI 96713 will serve as a voter service center and a place of deposit during the General Election on November 5, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All other provisions of the proclamation issued on May 10, 2022, remain in full force and effect.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the County of Maui be affixed.
