NACo unveiled a big-data tool designed to provide counties easy access to records to help them make informed policy decisions. The County Intelligence Connection 2.0 features U.S. counties – all 3,069 of them – in an interactive online map where data sets are available for download.
The map indicates Maui County received $1.6 million in federal funding via the Community Development Block Grant program with a growth rate of -2.7 percent from last year’s funding.
Data transparency makes it easier to uncover collaborative opportunities to further advance public services, and allows for new partnerships between neighboring counties, local nonprofits and private contractors.
