Sugimura launches Talk Story with Yuki at Upcountry Farmers Market
WAILUKU, Hawaii – Councilmember Yuki Lei K. Sugimura today announced the launch of Talk Story with Yuki, a monthly outreach program to engage the community on county issues that matter to them.
Sugimura will be available to interact with the public and receive concerns every second Saturday of the month, starting on Feb. 11 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Upcountry Farmers Market at Kulamalu Town Center on 55 Kiopaa Street in Pukalani. Future dates and information will be announced on MauiCounty.us/sugimura.
“The upcountry market is a great venue for farmers and growers, county watchdogs and other concerned citizens to meet and share their challenges and feedback on local legislation,” Sugimura said. “I invite the public to talk story with me, and support buying local produce, too!”
Sugimura holds the council seat for the Upcountry residency area. She is the chair of the Policy, Economic Development, and Agriculture Committee and is a member of the Kula Agricultural Park Committee.
Call the office of Councilmember Sugimura at (808) 270-7939 for questions.
